QNT Chitosan Review
QNT Chitosan is a diet pill that helps you to get rid of excess body fat by preventing your body from absorbing fat in the first place. Makers encourage you to also go on a low fat diet (just like Alli), because success or failure is determined with a fat blocker, almost entirely on your plan. Let’s take a look and see why.
Fat Blocking
Just like carb blocking, a fat blocker like QNT Chitosan is NOT made to replace a healthy diet and exercise plan. A fat blocker specifically requires a low fat diet, because it is only blocking a certain percentage of your fat intake, and were you to follow a high fat diet, that would defeat the purpose. QNT Chitosan could not possibly filter out that much fat.
On the other hand, if you follow a low fat diet, you are less likely to experience side effects (because any fat QNT Chitosan blocks has to get out of the body somehow), and you are more likely to actually lose weight. However, based on the research we’ve seen, QNT Chitosan may not make quite as big a difference as some would hope.
Research on QNT Chitosan
Very little is known about chitosan, and what is known is mostly based on the studies on Orlistat (a prescription fat blocker). In studies on Orlistat, subjects generally lost 5-10% of their body weight in a year. The studies on chitosan as it turns out are very similar. While very few human studies have actually been done, subjects lost an average of 1.8 pounds in an 8 week span, 1.8 pounds!!! Does that even count as clinically proven?
We digress, most of those subjects were not put on a low fat diet at all, let alone for the duration of the study. However, when we think about the average dieter, we realize that most dieters are nowhere near disciplined enough to be on a low fat diet in the first place. It defeats the whole point.
The other ingredient, vitamin C, has never been recognized as a weight loss supplement.
Side Effects of QNT Chitosan
Are you ready for a little bit of good news? While other (prescription) fat blockers have been linked to serious, not to mention extremely embarrassing side effects such as sudden and extreme diarrhea, chitosan is unlikely to cause that severity of side effects. QNT Chitosan may still cause some slight diarrhea, gas, and bloating, but that seems a small price to pay compared to its prescription counterparts.
Overall Value of QNT Chitosan
QNT Chitosan can be summed up rather quickly, because it only has one weight loss ingredient. We can see why you might think that QNT Chitosan works, we can see why it might actually work, and we can also see why most dieters using chitosan fail (most think of it as a cheat pill instead of a low fat diet aid).
However, based on the fact that adding people into the mix seems to dumb down chitosan’s effectiveness to little to nothing, we do not see QNT Chitosan as being a viable diet pill for most dieters. If you have used QNT Chitosan, we want to hear from you about whether it worked or not, what the side effect were (if any), or anything else you want to share with us.
